Randy launched Bowling Mamola Group with Patty Mamola to offer clients a depth of engineering experience through an easygoing approach. Randy specializes in consulting on and managing private and public works engineering projects. His vast experience includes assembling, leading, and overseeing professional teams.
Beginning with the Nevada Department of Transportation, Randy has amassed a diverse background, holding positions of responsibility in environmental engineering, construction, planning, and development. After cutting his teeth at NDOT, Randy became a partner at Omni-Means, an engineering firm that quickly grew from 12 people to 100. Desiring a less corporate, more hands-on environment, Randy joined Stanharrah, a Nevada corporation owned by the William F. Harrah trusts. There, he managed the planning and design of an exclusive residential estate in Reno. Subsequently, Randy founded his own successful engineering consulting firm.
After running Randy Bowling Consulting for a decade, Randy concluded that with the right partner he could serve his clients with even broader experience and a diversified approach. He found that person in Patty Mamola, and the two formed Bowling Mamola Group in 2003.
Since the firm’s beginning, Randy has served as the leader on an array of assignments and challenges. He has managed projects, from groundwater contamination remediation at the Reno-Stead Airport, to developing Northern Nevada’s first Impact Fee System for funding sewer and flood control projects in Sparks. He also helped Carson City’s public works department develop flood control fees and presentation strategies for public acceptance.
Randy is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, and a licensed civil engineer in Nevada, California, Oregon, and Idaho. Additionally, in Nevada, he is a licensed water rights surveyor. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association , and the American Council of Engineering Companies, on which he serves as a director on the Nevada Board.
