Patty Mamola, P.E.

Co-founder Patty Mamola oversees the company’s vision and operations while maintaining its position as an industry leader in Northern Nevada. She aims to keep BMG, in the words of one client, “one of the most prestigious firms in the region.”

With a degree from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, Patty has worked primarily in transportation, construction management, and problem solving. She started at the South Dakota Department of Transportation, but quickly moved on to the Nevada Department of Transportation where she held positions of responsibility in areas ranging from structural design to construction to administration. In her 14-year tenure, she was involved in construction at many levels.

As a resident engineer, Patty worked in both northern and southern Nevada. She administered projects as diverse as traffic signal systems, major drainage facilities, and signature freeway structures and roadways. Patty completed her tenure at NDOT as the Assistant District Engineer for Operations & Maintenance in Las Vegas, headquarters for the largest district in the state. Following her stint at NDOT, Patty was Construction Services Manager for a national consulting firm’s western division.

In 2003, Patty formed Bowling Mamola Group with Randy Bowling. With a primary specialties is construction management and constructability reviews, she is often the principal-in-charge and lead engineer on projects. These projects have included performing the constructability review of a $250 million highway improvement project in Las Vegas; evaluating the distribution of state fuel taxes in northwest Nevada; and facilitating the transportation permitting process for Summit Sierra, a $100 million shopping mall in Reno, Nevada.

A Nevada-licensed civil engineer, Patty is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies, the American Public Works Association, and the Society of Women Engineers. In 2006 Nevada’s governor appointed Patty to the Nevada Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors, where she also serves on several state and national committees overseeing engineering licensure. Patty currently chairs the Board.
